To crack down on nighttime traffic violations and ensure safety, the police bureau in Pingnan county, Fujian province, carried out effective special checkpoints on Jan 4, checking for drunk driving, driving under the influence of drugs, and fake licenses.
The police set up two checkpoints in the downtown square and sent out four police vehicles, 18 policemen and two breathalyzers. Among the more than 300 checked vehicles, four were detained for violating traffic regulations.
