Fujian's CPC disciplinary authorities at all levels handled a total of 5,779 disciplinary violation cases in 2014, up by 11.5 percent from the previous year, Fujian Daily reported on Jan 22, citing official figures.
Among them, 17 cases involved department-level officials, up 89 percent, and 191 cases involved officials and cadres at county-level, up by 79 percent.
5,665 people received punishment in accordance with CPC disciplines, and 810 of them were transferred to judicial organs for further investigation.
Fujian also handled 1,919 cases which breached the CPC eight-point rules against extravagance, formalism and bureaucracy last year. A total of 2,405 officials and cadres were probed and 666 were penalized.
“The construction of innocent Party organizations and the anti-corruption fight will never stop. We will always explore more ways to enhance the supervision work,” said an official with the CPC Fujian Commission for Discipline Inspection.
