Zhang Changping, the chairman of Fujian CPPCC, delivered a speech in which he said the year 2014 was fruitful for the CPPCC, whose members submitted 1,031 proposals and 2,000 pieces of social and livelihood information, of which 50 were used by the National CPPCC, and 300 were commented on by top officers.
In the last year, with the help of specially invited members of Fujian CPPCC, the China-ASEAN Marine Product Exchange was approved by the central government.
“2015 is critical to the strategy of comprehensively deepening the reform. It is also a beginning for comprehensively advancing the rule of law. And for Fujian, it is a new stage in achieving new development,” Zhang said.
Zhang required the members to study the new characteristics of Fujian’s economic development and to contribute to the construction of Fujian.
Zhang also called for more listening to people in the grass-roots communities. He suggested opening WeChat and Weibo accounts for the CPPCC, and encouraging members to seek their advice on the internet.
