Fujian tops in Chinese civilization

Now that the Fujian cities of Quanzhou, Zhangzhou and Sanming have been declared “civilized cities”, the province can claim five of the cities, the largest number for any single province, according to a Xinhua report of Feb 28, with the cities of Fuzhou and Xiamen holding on to their listings, which are a high honor.

The announcement came from the Party Central Committee’s Spiritual Civilization Development Steering Commission.
