Fujian issues first e-pass for Taiwan travelers

A employee with the entry-exit management department of the Fujian Public Security Bureau hands a new Mainland Travel Permit (MTP) to a Taiwan resident in Fuzhou, July 6. It is the first new MTP issued by the mainland’s public security authority. Compared with the old version, which was a booklet, the new MTP has a much slimmer form - a card equipped with a smart security chip – which is easier to carry and will make customs clearance more efficient.
