Arts festival to charm Fujian

The sixth Fujian Arts Festival is scheduled to open in Fuzhou, Fujian province on Nov 23, bringing some 100 stage performances and exhibitions to the city.

With a theme of "Chinese Dream", the event will highlight performances of new artists to showcase the new image of Fujian art.

In the following 20 days, audiences in Fujian will have opportunities to enjoy songs and dances, more than 100 dramas, acrobatics, and operas presented by more than 20,000 artists from across the province.

This arts festival will be not only a feast of the arts but also a festival for the public, as a public chorus competition, an exhibition of calligraphy works from the public, and a cross-Straits children's art exhibition will also be on offer.

The festival organizers have adopted a frugal style and are keeping the opening and closing ceremonies simple. Tickets for the activities will be free or low in price.
