Pingtan county has two more platforms for cross-Straits communication and cooperation.
The Communication Center of the Association of Pingtan Cross-Straits Young Entrepreneurs, and the Investment Attraction Office of the Cross-Straits Dialogue on Entrepreneurship were officially set up on May 18.
The launching of the two business platforms will promote cross-Straits collaboration, and create a communication platform for participants for the Cross-Straits Dialogue on Entrepreneurship, which is scheduled to be held on June 28.
Sun Yanwu, dean of the Taiwan Academy of Social Science, and Chen Zhiyun, chairman of Taiwan’s Chinese New Residents Party, attended the inaugurating ceremony.
Sun, who is also a member of the advisory council of the Kuomintang Party, said Pingtan left him with a good impression, and he hoped Pingtan can contribute to the cross-Straits cultural and economic exchange.
The development of Pingtan needs more energy from Taiwan’s medium and small-sized enterprises, and it can create a win-win situation for both sides, he added.
Chen Zhiyun revealed that she plans to bring 100 of Taiwan’s PhDs to Pingtan and call on talented people in various fields to contribute to Pingtan’s construction of a “Common Homeland”.
“We came to Pingtan to investigate its investment prospects and learn more about the favorable policies, as many Taiwan people want to make investments and work here. I hope I can get a document specifying the policies,” she said.
