Linxia and Kelantan become sister cities

The signing ceremony of a sister cities relationship between the Linxia Hui autonomous prefecture in Western China and Kelantan state in Malaysia was held on Aug 28. Datuk Iskandar Sarudin, Malaysian ambassador in China, attended the ceremony.

As one of the Hui autonomous prefectures in China, Linxia prefecture is honored as “China’s Mecca.” Kelantan has a large population of Muslims with rich Islamic traditions. The relationship as sister cities will further their cooperation in developing halal food and special ethnic items.
