3.9-magnitude earthquake hits Subei county

A 3.9-magnitude earthquake hit Jiuquan city’s Subei Mongolian autonomous county at 10:08 am, April 28. The epicenter was at 39.2 degrees north and 96.8 degrees east with a focal depth of 6 km, according to Gansu provincial seismological bureau.
The earthquake was 95 km from Yumen city, 143 km from Jiayuguan city, 199 km from Jiuquan’s downtown area, 73 km from Yumen’s Changma village, and 86 km from the Subei Mongolian autonomous county.
The epicenter was below a pasturing area, and didn’t affect Changma and Shibaocheng villages. To date, there have been no reports of casualties or financial loss.
According to a report from Jiuquan seismological bureau, a company with the name of Zhongsheng in Shibaocheng’s Yuerhong village felt the earthquake but there have been no reports of loss.
Staff members of the seismological bureau have been sent to the company to get more information.
