The fourth Dunhuang Trip Silk Road International Tourism Festival will begin in Zhangye city, Northwest China’s Gansu province, on June 15, Western Economic Daily reported on Monday.
So far, 367 people, consisting of travel agency representatives from 18 countries and regions including the United States, Russia and Kyrgyzstan, and people in charge of tourism enterprises from 29 domestic provinces and regions, will attend the event.
Compared with former events, the tourism festival this year is paying more attention to the services market, so organizers have invited officials from the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), and countries along the Silk Road.
As important activities of the tourism festival, the Silk Road tourist products expo and the fourth Chinese jade culture trade fair have invited about 400 enterprises from home and abroad to participate.
The reception, training and other preparations of the event have been finalized, and the dress rehearsal will be conducted on June 10.
