After four days of fierce competition, the 13th Gansu Sports Meeting’s teen cycling race ended on June 28. A delegation from Baiyin was second only to Lanzhou’s delegation with seven gold medals, seven silver medals and seven bronze medals.

Liu Xinping, deputy director of Gansu’s provincial sports bureau, attended the closing ceremony and presented the winners with their awards. Baiyin’s delegation is proud to bring multiple gold medals home.

The delegation won gold in men’s 500-meter time trials, the men’s 4-km race, the men’s 15-km race, the men’s road race, the men’s 30-km time trial, the women’s 500-meter time trial and the women’s 30-km group time trial.

Judges at the scene were also impressed by team members’ drive and passion despite heavy rain and slippery road conditions during the mountain bike race on the last day.

Wang Jicheng, a team member from the Baiyin delegation, won four gold medals and one silver medal.

“I feel really excited about my achievements in this race,” he said. “My efforts have finally paid off. I will work even harder next time to perform even better.”
