Gansu raises allowances for working in high temperature

According to Gansu Department of Human Resources and Social Security, beginning from this year, the province will raise the allowances for working in high temperatures. The allowances will be handed out for four months, and each person who works in high temperatures will receive 12 yuan ($ 2) per day. 

The adjustment not only raised the monthly payment amount, but also extended the length of coverage. Specifically speaking, employers who make arrangements for their employees to work outdoors in temperatures above 35℃ and who can't take effective measures to reduce the temperature below 33℃, shall hand out allowances to their employees for working in extreme temperatures.

The employees who work outdoors in high temperature will receive 12 yuan per day, and other employees will receive a daily allowance of 8 yuan. The allowances will be released from June to September according to the actual work days of the employees. The policy will be implemented from 2014.
