When Longxi county, in Gansu province celebrated its 3rd China Longxi Lee clan tourism festival, on Sept 21, it drew in people from China and abroad who all share the same surname, Lee, for activities that increase their understanding of the Lee family origins, including the worship of ancestors and an exhibition about their history along with local paintings and calligraphy.
The Longxi area is the home of clan and has produced many famous Lees and Lee clan relics, which are an important part of Longxi culture and its image. Naturally, the county promotes Lee–related tourism and builds friendships with Lees everywhere by observing the festival.
The vice-head of the Party committee, Li Hui, was on hand for the celebration, along with many other provincial leaders and Lee representatives from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the United States and Canada.
