China Mobile's Gansu branch launched pre-commercial service for its 4G plus (4G+) service on Dec 29.
The 4G plus upgrades gadgets to 4G services and employs technologies such as VoLET, an acronym for Voice over LTE, which allows better quality and definition for voice and video calls.
The Internet download peak rate is expected to rise from 100Mbps to 330Mbps, which means it will take 25 seconds to download a 1GB movie at the fastest speed.

VoLTE delivers the voice service as data flows within the LTE data bearer. This means that there is no dependence on the legacy circuit-switched voice network.
VoLTE has up to three times more voice and data capacity than 3G UMTS and up to six times more than 2G GSM.
LTE stands for long-term evolution, a standard for wireless communication of high-speed data for mobile phones and data terminals.
