Volunteers offer help to people in honor of "Lei Feng spirit"

Volunteer teams in Anding district, Dingxi city, Gansu province carried out charitable activities such as caring for the "empty-nest" elderly and providing free consultations and medical treatment on March 4 in honor of Lei Feng, the legendary soldier famous for his selflessness and altruism.
Lei Feng was a soldier of the People's Liberation Army of China and died at the age of 22 in 1962.
He achieved national fame and became an icon of altruistic spirit in 1963 when the late Chinese leader Mao Zedong wrote "Follow the example of Comrade Lei Feng", and March 5 was set as the anniversary for learning from Lei Feng.
