Baiyin city's TV station and library jointly held an activity among parents and children to promote reading of books on April 23, the 21st World Reading Day.

The activity was made up of two parts, field interviewing and experience sharing.

During the experience sharing, participating children were divided into two teams with ten kids on each team. The kids shared their reading experiences and feelings on stage. The judges graded each one based on his or her performance, and the team with the higher sore was the winner.

A parent called Li Yi said that the companionship and shared feelings among the children helped them enjoy reading.

According to the person in charge of the activity, it was held to raise parents' awareness of cultivating children's reading habits and to call for parents to read with their children in their spare time.
