Free screenings offered in Gansu

Travel for Angels, an event organized on April 26 and 27 by the Chinese Red Cross Foundation and The Guangdong Hospital of TCM, offered free congenital heart disease screenings to 155 children in Qingyang, northwest China's Gansu province.
Of those, 76 were diagnosed with the disease and will receive free surgery as a result.
"The province's high altitude leads to high occurrence of the disease," said Lin Dongqun, director of the hospital's cardio surgery department. "Many children have already been diagnosed but couldn't afford an operation."
