Locals in Gansu province were treated to a vast array of fun and entertaining activities to take part in, over the Dragon Boat Festival, from dragon boat racing to eating too many delicious zongzi, but for some wanting to escape the heat, the Weihe Clay Figure Pavilion was the best choice.
The 100-square-meter pavilion is filled with more than 870 distinctive and expertly-crafted sculptures, paintings and artwork.
The crafting of vivid and colorful clay figurines has a long history in the province and is been inspired by ancient folk tales and customs.
