Lanzhou Relief Station announced a new campaign to combat homelessness in Lanzhou on Nov 9.
The five-month-long campaign aims to protect the safety and basic rights and interests of homeless people in Lanzhou.
Over the next five months, authorities in Lanzhou have vowed to increase the number of street patrols and actively help homeless people find their relatives.
Lanzhou Relief Station will prepare more food and goods to assist homeless people and give them some respite from the cold weather. The station will also provide space to house homeless people, should they wish to lodge there temporarily.
Wan Lei, an official from Lanzhou Relief Station, said that staff members from the station will extend their working hours to help homeless people in the region during the winter period. Moreover, more vehicles will also be transferred temporarily for this campaign.
