Mobile science and technology museum exhibition kicks off

The “Experience science – China Mobile Science and Technology Museum” exhibition kicked off in Pingchuan district, Baiyin, Northwest China’s Gansu province on April 3, Baiyin Daily reported.
Co-organized by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), China Science and Technology Museum, Gansu Association for Science and Technology and other relevant organizations, the event will last till the end of May.
It is composed of five themed parts: acousto-optic experience, electromagnetic exploration, movement melody, mystery of life and charm of mathematics. Through watching scientific performances and carrying out experiments in person, visitors can gain some scientific knowledge and experience happiness in the process.
Zhang Jiong, vice-chairman of Gansu Association of Science and Technology, said at the opening ceremony that the activity aims to enrich the content of basic level popularization of sciences, and fill in science exhibition resource gaps in Gansu province.
The activity is significant for cultivating adolescences’ scientific ways of thinking and improving their practical abilities, Zhang added.
Gao Ying, director of the publicity department of Baiyin municipal Party committee, said that the exhibition is a large scale mass activity popularizing science, as well as an important platform to encourage innovation and oppose superstition in Baiyin city.
He said he hopes the activity can contribute to the formation of a fine social atmosphere in the city.
