Gansu rural tourism booms

Yuzhong county, in Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu province, is experiencing a boom in rural tourism. 363 local families run tourism businesses, the Gansu Economic Daily reported on Oct 30.
According to Lanzhou’s development and reform commission, this year Yuzhong county has attracted investments from companies including Chongqing Lanyu Investment Co for projects on sightseeing, entertainment and modern agriculture.
A total of 358 households manage agritainment, which refers to the farm-based tourism such as pick-your-own vegetables, feeding livestock and eating in farmhouses.
The county has received more than one billion visitors, who spent around 680 million yuan ($107.24 million). Tourism also transferred more than 10,000 rural labors. Yuzhong is now trying to standardize and strengthen rural tourism.
