The cylindrical main building project of the Zhanjiang Aquatic Sports Center is almost completed and ready for the 14th Guangdong Provincial Games.

In a landmark step on the way to finishing all the facilities to be used as venues for the Provincial Games, only interior decoration, greening and outdoor auxiliary projects of the center remain to be completed, for which officials spare no effort day and night.

The aquatic sports center is located at the Jinsha Bay Sea-view Corridor in Chikan district, with Haibin Avenue to the west, Zhanjiang Bay to the east and Zhanjiang Olympic Sports Center just across.

The center covers a total area of ten hectares, of which 5.33 hectares are water area.

It is a water sports venue that will host competitions, but will also be open for sightseeing and training for residents and athletes.

The first stage of the project will serve for some events at the Provincial Games, including sailing and windsurfing.
