As the 2015 China Marine Economy Expo is drawing near, the preparatory committee held a press conference in Zhanjiang on Sept 13, to introduce its preparation work.
The marine economy expo, to be held at Zhanjiang Olympic Sports Center on Nov 26-29, will set up an international pavilion to host high-end international marine culture forums and the international gourmet festival. Representatives from foreign chambers of commerce, international experts, senior executives from world's top 500 enterprises and transnational corporations are invited to exchange ideas and discuss international trade, marine industries and tourism, as well as the latest industry developments.
During the expo, as a core pavilion, the international pavilion will display national characteristics and cultural customs through a range of exhibition halls themed on "One Belt, One Road" countries, with an aim to promote marine economy cooperation between China and other countries. Six countries including the UK, Italy, New Zealand, Croatia, and Seychelles have already decided to attend, while 15 international enterprises have expressed their intention to take part.
The planned international gourmet festival is expected to grow into a new trademark for Zhanjiang's food industry. 120 booths will be set up at the 6,500-square-meter exhibition area to feature local and foreign specialties.
A rich mixture of other activities and exhibitions will also add more color to the expo, such as the "silk road" cultural relics and photography exhibition, the marine military and aviation equipment exhibition at the military pavilion, and some marine-featured yacht shows and marine sports contests.
