The 2015 China Marine Economy Expo (CMEE), to be held in Zhanjiang, South China's Guangdong province, from Nov 26 to 29, will build a high-end platform aiming at fostering the economic and trade cooperation in marine industry, according to its organizing committee.
As this year marks the China-ASEAN Year of Maritime Cooperation, the expo has invited ASEAN countries, as well as countries along the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Seychelles, Israel, Tunisia, the UK, Italy and South Korea have so far been confirmed as the countries to attend the expo.
The CMEE is the only national level marine economic and trade exhibition activity. It aims to showcase the latest achievements in marine energy resources, marine science and technology, ocean environmental protection, marine culture, marine tourism and ocean military technology with world-class vision and pioneering thinking.
The expo encourages international exchange and cooperation in the marine industry. It will help Guangdong province promote its resources and strength in marine economy and further its cooperation with other provinces and foreign countries. It will also strive to build a new pattern of collaboration within the framework of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
