Jingdong to deepen e-commerce cooperation with Lianjiang
Updated: 2015-12-10
Jingdong, a nationally famous e-commerce company, will deepen its cooperation with Lianjiang to promote rural e-commerce 2.0.
It will open a two-way distribution channel for the city's distinctive agricultural products, create an ecological agriculture business district, and promote the overall upgrading of the local agricultural industry, according to Zhanjiang Daily.
During the 2015 China Lianjiang (Jingdong) Red Orange Tourism and Culture Festival, the Lianjiang pavilion – displaying Chinese specialties sponsored by Jingdong – was formally opened to the public. Sales of Lianjiang red oranges, the "state banquet fruit", increased substantially on the net. Featured local agricultural products such as sausage and tea leaves were also to be found in the pavilion and began to sell online.
According to Jingdong Group leaders, the e-commerce mode 2.0 will help them to build Lianjiang into the most active rural e-commerce area in the western part of Guangdong province. It will open a new channel for sales and, in addition to promoting the city's agricultural products, will also introduce the city's famous small household appliances to overseas markets.
With the flourishing development of e-commerce, many college students have come back to Lianjiang to start businesses, which has helped promote the local market. Sales of red oranges this year have exceeded those of recent years.
