Zhanjiang enhances ties along the Maritime Silk Road

An economic and trade delegation led by Zhanjiang Mayor Wang Zhongbing started a 10-day visit to Israel, India and Vietnam on June 26, in a bid to enhance the role Zhanjiang plays along the Maritime Silk Road and strengthen cooperation with ASEAN and Western Asian countries.

In Israel, the delegation will seek out opportunities to cooperate with Agri-tar and AquaMaof, two well-known Israeli enterprises with expertise in agricultural technology, management, and seafood aquaculture.

Discussions will take place with Haifa Technology Park about potential cooperation in some high-tech projects to further develop Zhanjiang's own South Sea Valley Technology Park, a platform for innovative development.

Considering the great potential of cooperation with India in the fields of economy, trade and industry, the delegation will visit the Mumbai consulate-general and take part in in-depth discussions with the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry, with regards to mutual cooperation.

The delegation will meet with the Indian arm of Guangdong-based Midea Group and Wanfeng Auto Wheels to discuss the experiences of their businesses going global.

In Vietnam, the party will visit the consulate-general in Ho Chi Minh City, the economic center of Vietnam, and take part in talks with the Vietnamese department of industry and trade, on the global development of enterprises in Zhanjiang.

The group will discuss joint development and cooperation with the Vietnam national administration of tourism. The delegation will also visit Long Jiang Industrial Park in Vietnam to explore long-term bilateral cooperation.
