Zhanjiang opens electric car charging stations

By Huang Chenkuang(chinadaily.com.cn) Updated: 2016-11-23

The first two charging stations for electronic autos on Cunjin Street in the Chikan district of Zhanjiang were put into service on Nov 15.

The popularity of electric cars has risen in recent years, therefore, so has the demand for charging stations.

Under the guidance of low-carbon green economic development, Zhanjiang government plans to establish 25 charging stations by the end of 2017 to promote the development of local new-energy vehicle industry.

"The charging system is very easy to operate, and takes less than an hour to fully charge," said a working member from Chikan power providing bureau.

According to zhanjiang.gov.cn, another four stations will be set up in Zhanjiang, and are scheduled to open to the public by late November.
