High-tech machinery aids Leizhou's planting season
Updated: 2017-03-06
A modern agriculture pioneer, Leizhou in Zhanjiang, Guangdong heavily relies on machinery to carry out its spring ploughing, an important achievement of its agricultural mechanization.
Stretches of farmland covering more than 7,000 mu (466.7 hectares) in Malian village and Shangdi village of Nanxing town are among Leizhou's demonstration bases. The highly mechanized agriculture industry utilized advanced systems and machinery.
Self-propelled insecticide sprayers and seeders were employed during the whole ploughing process, greatly saving time and labor.
One of the most efficient automations is the laser-controlled land leveler. The machine uses a laser emitter, receiver and controller to shovel and move earth, increasing production efficiency by more than 20 percent. It is currently a widely utilized machine in agricultural cultivation areas across China.
