Upon its completion, the school will cover an area of 420 mu (28 hectares), providing 120 classes for a capacity of 6,000 students to improve the region's education level for the children of local residents and migrant employees.
Divided into two sections, the new hospital will be able to provide a total of 1000 beds across its 120,000-square-meter area, offering a full range of medical services to local residents.
Donghai Island is also home to such key projects as the Sino-Kuwait refinery and petrochemical complex and Baosteel Zhanjiang, making it a strategically important zone of Zhanjiang. Additional projects are planned for the near future, calling for further improvements to public service facilities and supporting infrastructures.
