The Hong Kong Star Team, a star-ridden charity football team, arrived at Dongxing for the national public welfare football tournament on July 26 to celebrate the team's 30th anniversary.
The team members first visited Dongxing Middle School on the same day. They presented school supplies for 30 left-behind children and encouraged them to study hard. Felix Wong, a famous actor and a member of the team, hoped that the activity could draw more people's attention to the plight of left-behind children and people in need.
The charity football matches kicked off at Dongxing Gymnasium in the afternoon. Super stars such as Alan Tam and Felix Wong all showed up in the football pitch. The Hong Kong Star Team won two matches they played with Dongxing teams 6-1 and 1-0.
The Hong Kong Star Team was launched in 1985 for charity purposes. It is made up of a group of famous singers, actors and football stars who are passionate about football. Over the past 30 years, the team has held friendly matches and charity activities around the world, raising a total of more than 500 million yuan ($80.55 million) for people in need.
