4,342 high school students receive tuition waivers

Fangchenggang waived tuition for senior high school students in Shiwan Dashan Mountain area, according to Fangchenggang's department of finance.

The city allocated funds of 2.43 million yuan ($380,800), benefitting a total of 4,342 students in the mountainous area this year.

A student in an autonomous regional level demonstrative high school can receive 590 yuan subsidy each term and a student in a regular high school can get 395 yuan each term. The policy seeks to guarantee secondary education and alleviate family burdens.

It helped relieve 1.25 million yuan of high school students' family burdens in the 2014 fall semester.
