With the success of the 12th China-ASEAN Expo, China-Vietnam border tourism has become a big attraction for Chinese tourists.
At present, more than 10 tourist routes from Guangxi in China to Vietnam are offered. Apart from travelling by air, are there any other means of transportation for Guangxi people to travel to Vietnam?
Highway: passenger direct bus
Not long ago, the Shande Motor Transport Associated Company in Vietnam started the service of transporting passengers to Nanning, capital of Guangxi, by tourist buses. It became the first direct bus service from Vietnam to China. The company is also planning to open new bus routes from Hanoi, capital of Vietnam, to Nanning and Guilin.
Railway: international combined transport train
Chinese tourists can also take an international combined transport train to travel to Vietnam. The train from Nanning to Hanoi was opened for service in January 2009. Tourists in either city can spend a night in the train and arrive at the other city the next morning.
Seaway: Beibu Gulf passenger liner
A passenger liner is another option for tourists to travel from Guangxi to Vietnam. It starts from Beihai Deepwater Harbor every evening and arrives at Halong Bay in Vietnam the next morning. The sea route from Guangxi Fangchenggang to Halong Bay has also opened for service.
