Chengyang Bridge is one of the National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units. As a wind-rain bridge, it is not alone in Sanjiang Dong county. There are 10-plus bridges of the same kind hanging over the Linxi River.

“Badou Bridge” in Bajiang county, “Patuan Bridge” and “Hualian Bridge” in Dutong county are wind-rain bridges with the craftsmanship comparable to the Chengyang Bridge.

Dong people live in two to three storey wooden houses. The Drum Tower is the symbol of Dong, which when built, absorbed the essence of ancient architecture of the Han Dynasty, breaking the normal practices in building conventional towers. According to a clan, each drum tower is built under a certain family name whilst the larger stockaded villages have three or four of them. It serves as an entertainment or meeting place for Dong people.

Hechi is located in the northwestern part of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the southern foothills of the Yungui Plateau.
