The Xiangbei River Scenic Zone |
Located in the upper section of the Linjiang River, the Xiangbei River begins at Latuo Village, Xiangbei Township and flows southward to the pier at Gulong Village, with a length of 10 kilometers long.
An upstream trip starting from Gulong Bay leads to the Chetou Village, where there is a cave in the back of the mountain. The sight inside the cave is fantastic. In the cave, there is a stream flowing down to the foot of the mountain, as it finds its way out.
Along the two sides of the river, people can see quite a few large, old and mysterious watermills slowly spinning in the water. Along the river lies Laguang Village, where the Pearl Cave is situated. The ground near the entrance of the cave is covered with numerous natural stone beads, big and small, which bear resemblance to numerous clear and shining pearls. If you step on them, the slippery stone beads will give you a pleasant sensation.
In the cave, there are quite a few lifelike stone dragons which are as thick as a bamboo basket and are dozens of meters long. You can also see a huge stalactite umbrella which looks like it is holding up the sky and spectacular waterfalls. Further down the river, you can see the LizhiCave, where there is a natural stone arch standing by the riverbank at the entrance of the cave. It is dozens of meters high.
As you maneuver the craft into the cave, you will find that there are plenty of streams and waterfalls inside the cave. Climb up along the Tongtian Hole, and you will get out of the cave and get to the back mountain. In the Dukou River near the Laguang Village stands an island that has 66,667 square meters of land covered by green bamboos. The Dashuiche Resort is located on the island.
