The Bama Yao autonomous county organized a food contest among local touristic hotels awarded stars and rural home inns on July 22.

Four authoritative experts from Guangxi Cooking and Catering Industry Association were invited to judge the contestant's culinary skills.

As a valuable source of tourism, Bama's food culture has unique characteristics. Many tourists were attracted to special local dishes as well as scenic spots in the county.

"Special dishes have great significance in enhancing the influence of catering enterprises and elevating tourism charm attractiveness," said He Yikui, an expert judge at the competition. "I hope that Bama will give full play to its resource superiority to build characteristic food brands and promote the development of local tourism," added He.
