A job fair for graduates from Guangxi's financial and economic universities was held at Guangxi University of Finance and Economics on Nov 21, marking the beginning of the "employment season".
The Education Department of Guangxi will organize a total of 19 large scale job fairs for 200,000 college graduates in the region from Nov 21 this year to August 2016.
Except for January 2016, every month during the period will see a job fair held in different cities including Nanning, Guilin, Liuzhou and Qinzhou.
Nanning, capital of Guangxi, used to be the first choice for graduates in the region. However, conditions have changed a little. More graduates now think that living in Nanning and working in a nearby city is also a good choice. "The key cities often have traffic jams and fierce competition. Well-developed transportation has shortened the time from one city to another," said a college graduate.
The job fair on Nov 21 offered nearly 10,000 employment opportunities in more than 480 companies, including 50 large-scale enterprises such as Guangxi Post, Guangxi Construction Engineering Group, Liuzhou Bank and China Life Insurance. The job posts were in the fields of finance, real estate, trade, investment, education, agriculture and others. The fair attracted about 10,000 job seekers; not only college graduates, but also those who simply want to change jobs.
