Investment leads to increased sewage treatment capacity in Hechi

The planned daily treatment capacity of the 11 sewage treatment plants in Hechi, Guangxi, is 235,000 tons, with a current daily capacity of 160,000 tons.

According to Hechi municipal administration bureau, the city invested 282 million yuan ($42.86 million) to construct 141.91 kilometers of sewage treatment pipes in 2015, finishing the projected targets. The urban area of Hechi completed the target of 9.2 kilometers of sewage pipeline last year, investing 22.8 million yuan.

During the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015), all 11 counties and districts in Hechi contributed to a combined total investment of 520 million yuan for the construction of 208.3 kilometers sewage pipeline.

During the five-year period, the city also invested 320 million yuan to build a new sewage disposal plant in the urban area, 12 in villages and towns, as well as expanding an existing plant, and increasing 85.5 kilometers of pipes. These measures helped allow an extra 40,000 tons of sewage treatment in Hechi daily.

Hechi is located in the northwestern part of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the southern foothills of the Yungui Plateau.
