Donglan county in Hechi, Guangxi, organized a juvenile fish release activity at the Changshouyu Wharf on March 17 to enhance fishery output.

Donglan county government leaders and people from all walks of life participated in the activity and released more than 200,000 fish into the Hongshui River, including carp, grass carp and chub.

In recent years, Donglan county has been focusing on the protection and management of fishery resources. The closed fishing system and problem-addressing actions have helped improve the water environment and promote the sustainable development of the local fishery industry.

Last year, Donglan energetically explored a villager self-governance management pattern to raise awareness of laws and regulations. It released a total of 1.1 million juvenile fish, contributing to a new aquatic output high of 5,400 tons.
