Hechi garners accolades as longevity city

Some 200 reporters gathered in Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Nov 28, declaring an official launch for the "media tour in Hechi".
The event involves 86 major online media who will cover Hechi's current economic achievements, traditional culture, folk arts, tourism resources and health-promotion industry, aiming to further promote Hechi as a longevity city with a rich cultural heritage and natural resources.
The activity will last from Nov 28 to Dec 4, with reporters touring around Hechi in two groups along two different routes.
Both starting off from Jinchengjiang district, one group travels to Du'an, Dahua, Donglan, and Fengshan counties, focusing on the health promotion sector. The other group will tour Yizhou, Huanjiang, Tian'e and Nandan counties, focusing on traditional culture and folk customs. The tours will culminate with both groups meeting in Bama county.
Reporters will take on various activities besides sightseeing, including tasting local food and taking part in local festival events in order to gain a deeper appreciation of local cultures.
Local government officials, as well as other working members of the media, were in attendance on the launching ceremony.
"Hechi has made various social changes over the past decades, I wish all of the reporters a pleasant tour of this beautiful city," said top official Li Chu during the ceremony.
