The poultry slaughtering workshop and the cold storage for packaging of the cold chain logistics center in Dahua Yao autonomous county of Hechi have recently been put into production.
The cold chain logistics center is a project integrating poultry slaughtering, quick-freezing, cold storage, processing, packaging, and sales. It aims to lift the county out of poverty through industrial development.
The center is planned to cover a total area of 120 mu (8 hectares) and has an investment of 150 million yuan ($21.2 million). A poultry slaughtering workshop, a 15,000 square meter cold storage for packaging, a sewage treatment works, an agricultural product wholesale market, as well as processing plants for cooked food, freshwater fishes, and unpolished rice will be set up one by one.
With construction beginning in March of this year, it is expected that after the whole project is completed, the center will be able to provide about 500 jobs and boast an industrial scale of more than 1 billion yuan.
"The latest equipment and advanced quick-freezing technology have been adopted in the center, which allows the center's products to be sold to cities outside the county," said Wei Keyang, the person in charge of the center.
