Enterprises paired to help poor villages in Donglan

Seventy-two private enterprises in Donglan county in the city of Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region have been devoted to helping poverty-stricken villages in recent years.
Several targeted poverty alleviation models, including those that support employment and entrepreneurship and public donations, have been formed in the county, with enterprises paired to help poor villages.
To date, 65 workshops for poverty alleviation have been established around the county, employing 2,222 people, of which 604 are registered as impoverished.
The Xingda Wood Processing Factory in Donglan has employed more than 40 people registered as poverty-stricken, so far.
Wei Bide, a villager from the county's Sanshi town, is working at the factory, along with his wife. "We two have a monthly salary that adds up to 7,000 yuan ($994)," said Wei, adding that as the factory is close to home, they can take care of their family. "Our life is getting better and better."
Dongsheng Driving School reduced their fees to teach more than 2,600 registered poor people how to drive. .
"A 600-yuan discount is offered to learn how to drive a car. Getting a driving license can achieve one more employment opportunity," noted Han Xiang from Jingu township.
Since 2016, more than 900 million yuan has been invested by the Donglan government to promote the practices of enterprises paired to help poor villages, the development of poverty alleviation industries, and water bank construction. More than 32,000 impoverished people from 53 poor villages have benefited from it.
