Since this year, Yizhou district in Hechi has been devoted to developing its tea-oil tree industry to expand channels for increasing people's incomes and boost rural revitalization.
By Dec 10, the new plantation area of tea-oil trees in the district reached about 16,020 mu (1,068 hectares), 100.1 percent of its annual target.
Yizhou launched its implementation plan for the development of the tea-oil industry in 2019, offering preferential policies in funds and taxation.
It has actively encouraged the development model integrating enterprises, cooperatives, production bases, and farmers in the district, as well as the establishment of production bases for tea-oil trees and related processing enterprises.
The district has also supported farmers in transferring their contracted land and forestland management rights through subcontracting, leasing, exchanging, transferring, and share-holding cooperation to expand large-scale operations.
Currently, Yizhou is promoting the construction of the tea-oil tree industry (core) demonstration zone in the district's Lagao village, which is invested in by Guangxi Zhongzhou Eco-agriculture Investment Co and integrates the planting and processing of tea-oil trees.
In 2019, the total investment by private capital in the tea-oil industry in Yizhou exceeded 8 million yuan ($1.14 million).
In addition, the district carried out technical training activities to attract more people involved in the tea-oil industry. Six county-level training activities have taken place this year, training 568 people from 64 impoverished villages in the district.
