Bama's investment attraction efforts prove effective

Bama Yao autonomous county in Hechi has launched various measures to boost investment attraction and help big projects settle down in the area, Hechi Daily reported on March 18.

At present, the county is home to 125 projects from 72 companies such as Huawei, Country Garden and OCT Group, with a planned investment of 79.05 billion yuan ($12.14 billion). A total of 55 of them have already  settled down in Bama, and 15.7 billion yuan of capital has been put in place.

Efforts have been made to optimizing the business environment, and county leaders have taken the lead in luring investment; they have gone on 106 business promotion trips and have invited 201 companies to pay on-site visits and enter negotiations in Bama.

During the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020), Bama received more than 200 companies and institutions such as Haochuang Group, Shenzhen Maoxiong, OCT Group and Shenzhen Association for Science and Technology for on-site visits and negotiations.

The county has been taking an active role in participating in the large-scale investment attraction events organized by Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and Hechi. It has attended 26 investment attraction events since 2016, such as the China-ASEAN Expo and the Bama Forum.

Bama welcomed 3.21 billion yuan of investment in 2020, surpassing its annual target of 2.75 billion yuan by 16.7 percent.

Hechi is located in the northwestern part of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the southern foothills of the Yungui Plateau.
