Hechi began construction work on the Hechi (Yizhou) west highway and the Hechi-Libo expressway on March 30, both of which will help promote the development of the city's transport infrastructure.

The Hechi (Yizhou) west highway starts from Quancun village in Desheng town, Yizhou district, and passes through Huaiyuan town, Tongde town, Beiya Yao autonomous town and Beishan town. The end point is located near Shaping village, Shibie town, Yizhou district.

The total length of the project is 45.67 kilometers, and it covers an overall area of about 4,401.8 mu (293.45 hectares). The estimated investment is 7.05 billion yuan ($1.07 billion).

The construction of the project will promote the development of the Jinchengjiang-Yizhou Economic Corridor Belt in Hechi.

The Hechi-Libo expressway is set to be a major passageway connecting areas outside Guangxi in the northern part of the region. It starts from the Desheng interchange on the Shantou-Kunming expressway, and pass through Desheng town in Yizhou district, Xiancheng district, Luoyang town, Shuiyuan town and Chuanshan town in Huanjiang county.

The total length of the project is 68.78 km, and it has an estimated investment of 11.4 billion yuan.

It will be the first highway to pass through Huanjiang Maonan autonomous county, which is of great significance in terms of promoting the high-quality development of the county.

It adds a new direct passageway between Guangxi and Guizhou, making it more convenient for people from Southeast China wishing to travel to famous tourism cities such as Guilin and Beihai in Guangxi, as well as facilitating tourists from Guangdong and Guangxi to travel to Guizhou.

The number of expressways under construction in Hechi will reach nine this year, at a cost of 113 billion yuan, and with a total length of 618 kilometers.

Hechi is located in the northwestern part of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the southern foothills of the Yungui Plateau.
