Four projects in Hechi's Fengshan county with an overall investment of 13.13 billion yuan ($2 billion) began construction on March 30, while two projects with a total investment of 2.16 billion yuan completed construction on the same day.
All of these projects are expected to boost rural revitalization in Fengshan.
The Tian'e-Beihai expressway, a national major project, stretches 47 kilometers and will be built at a cost of 12.5 billion yuan. The project is of great significance in terms of improving traffic conditions and helping the "leapfrog development" of Fengshan county.
The building materials center in Fengshan county will cover an area of 106 mu (7 hectares) and see an investment of over 160 million yuan. It is expected to accommodate more than 200 commercial tenants, provide job opportunities for over 2,000 people, as well as create an annual sales volume of 80 million yuan and a tax revenue of 5 million yuan.
The two projects which finished construction are the Nanjincheng Avenue project and the project for building production lines that can produce 1,000 metric tons of both walnut oil and camellia oil annually.
The Nanjincheng Avenue project primarily involved the construction of roads, bridges, a comprehensive pipe network, lighting and traffic at a cost of 186.64 million yuan. The project was completed after 24 months' construction.
