Yizhou's landscape takes on a new look

Hechi city's Yizhou district has been making great efforts to strengthen its infrastructure, upgrade its "greening" level, and improve its residents' livelihoods in recent years, allowing people to enjoy the fruits of urban and rural development.

Yizhou has made significant progress in pollution prevention and control. For example, the district has completed the construction of 10 rural sewage treatment projects, perfected its water management system, and defined the management scope of 137 rivers.

Besides, Yizhou has dealt with seven cases of environmental violations, and banned 40 polluting enterprises. The number of days with good air quality in urban areas reached 349 in 2020, with an excellence rate of 96 percent.

Infrastructure in Yizhou has been gradually improving. The district raised funds to promote the restoration of municipal-level roads including Zhuangyuan Bridge, Fengjingdong Road, Longjiang Road, and Gongyuan East Road. Restoration of Zheda Road, Gaojiapu West Road, and Yueshan Road has largely been completed, allowing urban traffic to flow more smoothly.

Xiaolong village in Liusanjie town won the "National Civilized Village and Town" title.

The annual afforestation rate in Yizhou reached 45,000 mu (3,000 hectares) in 2020, while the forest coverage rate reached 64.52 percent. Liuhe community in Liusanjie town, together with another four communities, was awarded the title of National Forest Village.

Hechi is located in the northwestern part of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the southern foothills of the Yungui Plateau.
