Thanks to the construction of the Hechi-Du'an Expressway in 2014, Du'an's beef industry is experiencing rapid growth, with its products currently popular throughout the country, Hechi Daily reported on May 10.

The county's trade and logistics city, cold-chain storage and logistics center, and breeding base were built beside the expressway, grouping the entire industrial chain together and enabling rapid distribution across the country.

Du'an's fresh beef can be sent to Shenzhen in Guangdong province the next day, and can be delivered to big cities such as Beijing and Shanghai within three days, according to the head of Du'an Xinan Cold-chain Logistics Center, a project with an investment of 300 million yuan ($46.7 million) which has benefited greatly from the expressway network.

The cold-chain storage and logistics center has formed a comprehensive beef industrial chain since its establishment two years ago. According to statistics, the center creates an annual output value of 3 billion yuan, providing nearly 3,000 jobs for residents living in surrounding areas and raising the living standards of 25,000 poverty-stricken households.

Hechi is located in the northwestern part of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the southern foothills of the Yungui Plateau.
