The Guizhou delegation to the first session of the 12th National People's Congress held a media interview in the delegation’s residence on March 6.

Roughly 150 journalists from 70 media outlets – including Xinhua News Agency, CCTV and the Wall Street Journal – asked questions regarding the process of the government work report review.

Zhao Kezhi, secretary of CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee, presided over the meeting. Chen Min'er, governor of Guizhou province, talked about understanding the government work report and introduced the main achievements that Guizhou has made.

The building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects is a tough task for Guizhou. Based on the development, Guizhou will focus on work in rural areas and poverty alleviation, said Zhao Kezhi. With a clearly-defined objective, a correct strategy and a powerful driving force, Guizhou will constantly strive to accomplish the task simultaneously with the entire nation.

Zhao Kezhi also talked about the issue of unattended children and education. The CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and the Guizhou provincial government have decided to invest more in education to benefit more children, said Zhao.

Through the implementation of the government work report, the governments at all levels in Guizhou will boost the construction of a moderately prosperous society by focusing on development, improving people's wellbeing, helping enterprises progress and emphasizing environmental protection, said Chen Min'er.
