Guizhou province opened its Professionals Convention, Guizhou in the city of Guiyang, the provincial capital, on March 28, the first ever activity of its kind there.

The theme of the convention, which lasts two days, is "Attract talent, develop with Guizhou", reflecting Guizhou’s plan to raise its talent level to a new stage and provide a place for more effective exchanges.

Guizhou says that it needs 8,634 talented people, 2,265 of them are professors and specialists. It has more than 10,000 jobs in several hundred State-owned enterprises and government offices, and private organizations.

Chen Yiqin, the deputy-governor of the province, explains, "Talent is the key to realizing the Chinese Dream for Guizhou and it considers talent to be more important now than ever before."

Hou Jianliang, the honorary chairman of the China Association for International Exchange of Personnel, who attended the convention, added,"We'll support the hiring of talented people in Guizhou."
