35 to 40-degree heat forecast in Southern China

BEIJING, Aug. 4 (Xinhuanet) -- Southern parts of China are set for another heatwave on Sunday, after an orange alert has been issued by the National Meteorological Center. Shaanxi, Gansu, Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou and Guangdong are all expected to see temperatures above 35 degrees.

Highs of 40 degrees-plus are forecast in parts of Zhejiang, Hunan and Xinjiang. Weather experts say the heatwave will continue for several days, and temperatures could rise further. The public has been warned to stay indoors if possible, and keep cool and hydrated.
